Spinach

The origin of spinach lies in Asia. Nowadays, spinach is also grown in the Netherlands. There are different varieties of spinach, including small-leafed, large-leafed and savoy spinach. This vegetable is usually grown outdoors, but can also be grown in greenhouses. Spinach is versatile and can be used in salads, soups, pastas, pizzas, or in a Dutch mash pot (stamppot).
